Server upgrade on May 18, 2010
To get most out of Debian and move my development platform back to Linux, after spending 24 hours on thinking, I decided to upgrade the server from Debian 5 “Lenny” (Stable) to Debian 6 “Squeeze” (Testing).
This means during the upgrade, ONLY Project Hourglass’ official homepage and developer site will be highly possible to become temporarily offline. The main website (incl. homepage, lab and blog) and the official website of Supagarn School of Music won’t be affected by this upgrade.
The plan will be carried out on May 18, 2010 14:00 PM EDT unless I found it unnecessary to do so.
Status Updates:
- 2010.06.01 17:11 EDT (RESOLVED)
- 2010.05.18 00:18 EDT (STAND BY)

aki.shiroyuki.com is going into the offline mode
Per the recent system relocations, the server “aki” will be demoted from the main server to the developmental/experimental server. This change also affect the quality of services of the server as its downtime is will be at most 90%.
As for now, the server “aki” will go into the offline mode for network reset, as well as the server “fuyuki” (the development server).
FYI, there is a plan on decommissioning “aki” by the end of 2010 or replacing “aki” (Intel P4 2.4 GHz, DDR-RAM 1.5 GB) with iMac or something else.
